Trauma-sensitive emotional therapy

Individual sessions

For delicate periods and life crises

This therapy offers a space to welcome what has not yet been fully felt or integrated. Sometimes it is necessary to slow down, to gently welcome what was set aside, and to let a more peaceful, more coherent way of being emerge — one more open to the humanity that every difficult passage holds in seed.

Who these individual sessions are for

It may be a relational, existential or professional crisis, an upheaval linked to health, an emotional exhaustion, or a diffuse sense of having lost your bearings. Often, the people I accompany are already sensitive to their inner world, but need a safe framework to move through this passage.

You don't need to know exactly what is at play, nor what you want to work on. It is enough to sense that something is there, and that on your own you keep circling the same place. This work welcomes your humanity, your questions, your pace, exactly as you are.

Trauma-sensitive therapy: how is it different ?

These sessions are for people moving through a delicate period or a life crisis. A moment when something is coming undone, reorganising, or asking to be seen in a different way.

My approach is sensitive to individual, intergenerational and collective trauma. It adjusts to what is alive in you, honouring your pace and your limits. There is no imposed technique, no predefined path. What emerges guides the session.

For over 20 years, I have accompanied people through sometimes very sensitive phases of transition. What deeply supports the work is the quality of presence – a fine attunement, emotional, bodily, relational – that allows what could not be seen to be welcomed at last.

A space of presence, online or in Leiden

Online sessions offer the same quality of presence as in person. You are at home, in your own environment, which can support a sense of safety and grounding – and lets you begin this work from anywhere.

In-person sessions, in a practice room in Leiden, offer something that remote work cannot quite replace: the meeting in flesh and blood, the fine perception of the body in space, the sense of safety that comes from a shared physical presence.

The setting and the approach are identical in both formats. Physical presence simply supports the process for those who wish for it.

What you experience in a session

Presence and fine-tuned listening

You are welcomed exactly as you are, with whatever emerges. We move forward from your felt sense in the moment. Your body, your story, your inner wisdom guide the session.

Regulation & grounding

Grounding, breath, attention to the body – to support the nervous system, restore inner stability, and move through what is present with more safety.

Welcoming emotions and protective mechanisms

I respect the protections you have put in place. Recognising them with kindness – rather than bypassing them – naturally opens the way to more safety and integration.

Reconnecting with your resources

Whether it is a connection to your essence, to the Earth, to the ancestors, or to a forgotten capacity, we let what supports you emerge. The work nurtures your natural potential for regulation and clarity.

Being fully seen

The presence of a grounded and sensitive witness repairs what could not be repaired before. Younger parts, once alone or fragmented, can draw closer and integrate – opening a space of deep and lasting transformation.

Every session is unique

Portrait of Elisabeth

From wound to reconciliation: when the soul finds itself again

« This work with Alexandra brought me, above all, a reconciliation with my wounded child, as well as a change in my way of life. In the end I reconnected with the truth that my Soul is immortal! What could be more beautiful and full of hope! Behind every problem, difficulty, suffering, there is an immense wisdom and kindness. I wish for you too to experience this work with Alexandra, who has a great sensitivity and a deep respect. With all my gratitude! »

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if this work is for me ?

This work suits people moving through a period of crisis or transition, who have a sufficient base of stability to explore what they are living. Often, the hardest part is already done: asking for support. You don't need to know how – it is my role to guide you, with respect and gentleness.

Does this work replace medical care ?

No. It is part of a process of emotional support and regulation, and does not replace medical or psychotherapeutic care. When severe traumatic symptoms are in the foreground, specialised support is necessary. This work can, when appropriate, complement other care.

How does a session unfold ?

We begin with a time of welcome and centring. Together we clarify what needs to be heard or supported. Each session is unique: it may support regulation, exploration or integration. I recommend keeping a quiet moment afterwards. Listen to your body.

What happens if a strong emotion arises during an online session ?

If an intense emotion emerges, we slow down. I support you to stay connected to your breath and body, and adjust the pace if needed. You are at home, in your own environment – which can support a sense of safety and grounding. Nothing is forced: whatever arises is welcomed with presence and gentleness.

What do I need for an online session ?

A quiet place. A comfortable chair or cushion. A good internet connection. A glass of water and tissues if needed. And above all: your presence.

Do you offer a sliding-scale rate or payment in instalments ?

Yes, in certain cases. If the rate is an obstacle but you feel a calling, write to me. I sometimes offer payment arrangements or sliding-scale places.

Where to begin ?

Still hesitating? The free meditations on Insight Timer let you sense my voice and my approach, and take a first step, at your own pace.

You can also book a free 30-minute discovery call – a space to talk, ask your questions, and see whether the work is right for you.

This guidance is part of a process of emotional support and regulation. I am an emotional therapist – my work is distinct from that of a psychologist or psychiatrist. When specialised therapeutic care is necessary, this comes as a complement and does not replace it. The full terms are detailed in the terms and conditions.
